For the past hundred years, innovation within the automotive sector has created safer, cleaner and more affordable vehicles, and the evolution is still incremental. The industry now appears to substantial change, engendered by autonomous or self-driving vehicle technology.
An autonomous vehicle is a car capable of fulfilling the main transportation capabilities of a traditional car. It is capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input. Those vehicles sense their surroundings thanks to such techniques as radars, GPS, computer vision etc.
With the improvement of such technologies, autonomous vehicle is becoming a reality, Recently, president Barack Obama the fixing's america surface transportation (FAST) Act. This act include provisions that could help put more self-driving cars., which companies like google, Audi and Tesla are developing on the road.
For example, the FAST Act establishes grants for “advanced transportation and congestion management technologies deployment.” In this category, the law specifically mentions autonomous vehicles, as well as “technologies associated with autonomous vehicles, and other collision avoidance technologies,” as eligible for the grant funding.
Despite this step forward taken by the president of the United States of America, some critics say the FAST act didn't go far enough to encourage innovation among self-driving car services. But slowly but surely, autonomous vehicles are becoming a part of our society and its use could be beneficial for all.
Really intersting topic, I wonder how and when technology advanced that much to create things like that. I hope this become a real thing in the future.
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a really interesting topic, however one flaw will always be if people can trust this product. If this is accurate, safe and can gain peoples trust then this would definitley be a breakthrough.
